In cahoots with Joshua Bisset and Laura Quattrocchi of the Shua Group and sound by Steve Bradley,  Federal Hill will stormed by Baltimorians on the 26th of October! Thus far, Public Moves has held one performance, slowly acquainting the participants with the “dance” choreography and testing the boundaries of the performance space (Federal Hill facing the harbor).  The way things are set up,  Steve Bradely, a professor of mine, and a few students will be stationed on the roofs of both the Visionary Art Museum and the Science Center, extracting and blasting sound into the environment. The “dancers” will be moving collectively up and down, side to side, and in and out of the performance space on Federal Hill in conjunction with the sound elements to create a huge, living public installation.  The  movements of the people are going to vary – at some points everyone will be doing the same thing (forming one unified line or slowly crawling down the hill) and at other points the rhythm will be more abstract (meandering around the park or shaking hands with random people). The first rehearsal is only the beginning! Tell all of your friends! Bring everyone you know….or  at least  be there to watch the final performance!!
